Big Game Trophy Hunts
Scenic View Ranch is located in beautiful North East Iowa. The Yellow River, the fastest running river in Iowa, flows right through the ranch and is stocked with 200,000 trout a year. Towering rock walls, caves, brush, woods & meadows is what makes this unique from all the rest. You will wear out your bacon hunting a wild hog.
We offer bull elk and cows, whitetail deer, buffalo, big horned rams, wild hogs, fallow bucks, red stags and heins.
No License Needed. Bring the weapon of your choice. Our attorney requires a signed waiver of liability before hunting.
Scenic View Ranch is owned and operated by Lloyd Johanningmeier and son Rex. We welcome visitors by appointment.
How to Book your Hunt:

Send a deposit to book your days.
Lodging:
Arrangements can be made to pick you up at the airport in Dubuque, IA.
Meals:
Here is the thing, the cook is not always available (she has a diamond but no date). Lloyd has a full kitchen to cook in. The casino has a tremendous buffet and very reasonable. Just around the corner is the world’s largest tenderloin and also the 1lb Gunderburger.
Other Services:
You are welcome to field dress your own game here at the ranch or Rex would be happy to do it for you. He is quick with a knife and appreciates the tips.
There is a local locker to process your game and they are very reasonable and accommodating.
The historical towns of Marquette and McGregor provide some interesting shopping; antiques, winery, old fashioned general stores, and of course the casino.
Effigy Mounds State Park and Yellow River Forest Park are just a short distance from the ranch.
Pricing:
Elk Bulls start at 3,500.00 for a nice 6 X 6. Available now are a few bulls that have been scored over 400. Call for pricing.
Wild hogs are a great value. Meat hogs 300, groups of four or more 275, Trophy hogs 500, 270-pound wild hogs with 4 inch tusk 700. Shoot 'em up!
Buffalo Bulls start at $1,600. Cows start at $1,300.
Fallow Deer start at $1,250. We have a real trophy buck priced at $2,000.
Rams $400 – 800.00.
Red Deer heins $350.00 for some great eating.
